God,10x Generalist and AI
God was the OG generalist : Omnipotent. Omniscient. A being who could write odysseys, build the universe, create all life, destroy what’s no longer needed, compose symphonies, and engineer galaxies, all before lunch.
We are unique in the way that we are always both creating ourselves and destroying ourselves - often needing to be saved from ourselves. We are editing ourselves constantly - what for? To Become God? [I am an atheist, so God = concept of God]
Our desire to create super intelligence, to travel to space, to find other life forms - is to search for become God. And we have taken one giant leap forward as a humanity with AI. It is our burning brush to create, to imagine and to will into existence.
The rate of learning anything new is coming down, I think you can get to a 75th percentile programmer by just dancing with AI and religiously vibe coding. Writing is no stranger to this, if you really dedicate 2 months to mastering AI prompts to weld your hypothetical pen to create writing that can breathe and come alive. I am certain you will be better than 90% of written word on the internet and probably 98% of everything in a newspaper.
I think we can get there with video generation within a year - Veo is pretty damn good already. We will get there with music within a year or two. Next would be movies and so forth.
The learning curve of AI will push us towards chasing our curiosity in multiple directions while getting incredibly great at it.
I think I will be able to dedicate 2-3 years to making a movie and create pixels that whisper. Similarly, I could spend 2-5 years chasing music and creating tunes that make your body move. The same is true for writing a book, I could write a story that stirs up your soul. We are becoming generalists not out of boredom,
but because the world no longer demands specialists.
There won’t be such thing as being too late, only the lack of courage will stop us from creating. Limited only by our wilderness, our search for transhumanism will continue.
May we all become the god we need to save ourselves.
